2016 - 2017
Together with the Denpasar City Environmental and Sanitation Department (DLHK), Gringgo Trash Tech, Wisnu Foundation, and PPLH Bali, we launched a project using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to map the way toward cleaner neighborhoods and a more sustainable Denpasar.
You can't fix what you can't see. The Secondary Cities GIS App, launched during Denpasar's 229th anniversary, helps:
The project mapped hidden waste flows across Denpasar, supported underserved communities in understanding where and how to recycle, and helped create new economic value from what was once seen as trash.
This pilot in Denpasar is a starting point for scaling the same approach to other cities, integrated with better infrastructure and climate-smart planning.
